Anyone heard of or used the voice chat system called Mumble?
Apparently some folks are preferring it over Ventrilo.
Haven't used it myself.
P.S.
The reason I ask it that it's open source (a.k.a. free) so it would be nothing to set it up on a server in addition to the Ventrilo hosting if anyone is interested.

Never heard of it. Been so long since I have used vent or any voice chat, no idea if any of them still work on my computer.

Interesting. I'll set one up, just for the hell of it as an option. It's free and I have a server in New Jersey that should more than handle it.

Not bad. Was out of commission for a couple of weeks recently with a dead hard drive. Luckily it was under warranty.
Other than that been pretty busy with a bit of home reno and such. Trying to get it done before April when my next daughter is due to show up.
Game wise I've been just fiddling since going through Skyrim. Got through most of what I was interested in by about level 63 (at which point everything was easy-mode), then loaned the game to a friends kid.
Last thing I've been playing a bit is Red Faction: Guerrilla, fun for a while but I get the feeling it's going to get repetitive pretty quickly.

Mumble Status in sidebar.
"Connect!" will launch to the server if you have mumble installed.
Or...
host: lifetorrent.net
port: 64738

Mumble seems to be able to handle a lot of users.
Goonswarm uses it in Eve, and usually host a lot of allies on it for fleets.
Can be stable with 700+ users on it, maybe more.

Mumble has been working well so far.
We're paid up on vent for another year, but if this holds up maybe we can use mumble as our primary. I already pay for the server its running on so it would be a good free solution for us going forward.
There is no user limit on it.
