Thinking about returning to Rift

Was reading on Biobreak about Syp playing Rift and how he has been tweaking his Cleric and that got me thinking about returning to Rift to give my level 12 Cleric another go. She was fun but I never really got into her, likely because I needed to get to a higher level to really start feeling the class. At level 12 she is low enough to play free so I may do that and see if I like her enough to continue.

Rift is an Awesome game.. or jump on the LoTro f2p Amokk .. also a great game ..

I updated LotRO F2P last night and logged in but I am totally lost. Level 39 Champion in the North Downs. With a couple of issues. Last time I played the game would freeze every 30 seconds or so. That is now down to a jerk and hesitation which is much better. Worse issue is in order to do anything I have to buy the quest zone or whatever it is called. All the quests I come across are locked and require me to purchase or subscribe. But since it has been so long since I played last I am completely lost. I look at my character and his skills and just have no clue what I am doing.

Hmm take 15 minutes ..look over the interface and reead all the skills again .. should brush ya up enough to start killin .. Just to practice... Yu can earn Turbine Points many ways .. or you can buy them or many sub options.. Let me know I have my Minstel at 30 .. ill get him a few lvls and could run with ya some..

But honestly is 1 of the best games out there just gotta play it.. So cool getting to see all the great stuff in LoTro ..

Best part is I can dabble with Rift and LotRO since they are both free. Well to a point. 8 more levels and my Cleric will no longer be free in Rift.

really?!?! if i have already purchased the box and expansions for lotro, i now have to repurchase all the content i had already paid for? that will probably turn me off from ever downloading it again.

For you it may be different. I am not sure what all I have bought beyond the original box. Been a long time since I played last.

While i understand the aggrvations of F2P models, it seems it is the way the genre has moved .. and if it supports devs to further produce content , then so be it..

As far as you purchase .. you didnt get to play the contnet for free before.. you were still required to sub to access said content altho you purchased a box.. that hasnt changed and is standard in the genre ..

Been messing around with my little Cleric in Rift and have discovered Rift may be my new EQ2. I always assumed EQ2 would be my go to MMO, the one I always returned to when others grew boring. But the last time I jumped back into EQ2 it felt like the game had grown so far beyond me that it was just not fun to get back into. Rift is the new EQ2.

Cleric is now 15 and starting to get some decent options. Also loving he fishing and survival. A few cool new tweaks added since I last played.

Just realized my Cleric is not in the guild. Anyone still have a character in Rift they can use to get me in the guild?

i downloaded lotro, i may or may not play it. i logged on for a few and none of the areas seem to be unlocked except moria. are you on vilya server rico? i might need a kin invite at some point.
