Because F2P is the current golden child. I'll go out on a limb and say that by this time next year every MMO new and old is F2P with silver and gold paid subs if you choose.

Yah and smedly pretty much echoed what amokk said by saying that swotor will be the last subscription mmo. We'll see how this plays out though. I don't know that it effects me much but relinna is all abubble cause she's going to get to transfer her raid toons off the bazaar to our server.

Just looking at the difference between F2P, Silver, and Gold. Curious to see what would happen if I log in without going Gold. I have my shared bank slots full and more than 4 characters. Also wonder what happens to those skills I have mastered? Do they drop back to Expert? Which bank slots do I lose? Do I have to choose 4 out of the 8 characters I have? I can see a ton of issues coming from the move to F2P. I think if I did come back I would subscribe just to save possible headaches.
