To whom it may concern.
For those of you who dont know im writing this post so that no one is suprised when they ask "hey tormak hasnt been on in a while where is he?"
I not long ago decided to further check out an idea i had been kicking around for a while. I decided to go see what the armed forces could offer me. I went and took the military aptitude test and scored a 96/99 after which i spoke to the head of naval recruitment for Illinois who informed me that i had qualified for any enlisted career of my choosing.
After some consideration I signed a six year contract with the Navy under AECF or advanced electronics and computers field... basically a comuputer programmer/electronic technition with the highest lvl of security clearance. Im gonna be the guy writing the computer guidance systems for advanced missle systems there is a settling thought.
I leave for basic training at Great Lakes Naval Station the 10th of april. I will spend 2 months in basic where i will have no access to a computer.
After basic training i will be stationed in Great Lakes Naval Station for another 2 years for my career training during which time i will basically be in college but getting payed for it. It is after basic training that I will be returning to hopefully entirely new content.
As some have voiced concerns such as "after being away for 2 months you arent gonna wanna come back" or "you wont have as much time to play like you used to" i say this. I play world of warcraft and love it not just because of the experience of the gameplay but because of the friends ive made along the way. As gay and sappy as it may sound i like you guys way to much to not come back, enough said.
So as i leave i am rather sure you guys will do fine in my absence and that i will have 2 months worth of new fights to learn.

I know that it must have been a hard decision, as is any career choice. I wish you luck as with the rest of the guild I'm sure. I hope you enjoy what you do and get something interesting out of this experience.
