So i now have my Archer at 24 and my healer at 23 , and i gott say both are great fun to play , the group mechanics and combat are so freakin immersive, healing is actually reall fun and challenging as you actually have to aim your heals at members , so far still having a great time in Tera ...

Sounds like you may be one of the few liking it. Have not seen many talking about it lately but those I have are saying people are not even making it to the 30 days before leaving. I have not gotten to play for over a week and am likely beyond the time limit to play. think my guy was 3, maybe 4. Game is okay but I was finding myself forgetting about it rather than thinking when can I play next. Not a good sign.

And that is the weird thing. Tera gets good reviews. It s combat system is praise. But beyond that it is called a clone of WoW, Rift, and other MMOs. Most people I have seen saying they are done with Tera all say the same thing. great combat but nothing else. Gets boring fast. I have not really played it enough to call it one way or another.

I just hit 30 this morning with my lancer in tera.

I'm not for sure it's a fair review. It's starting to seem that unless an mmo can top wow somehow then everyone thinks it's destined for the crapper.

So my take on tera... it's fun a lot of fun actually. I absolutely love the combat in it. yes the quest system seems grindy but it's absolutely no different than an other mmo out on the market right now (actually tsw seems to make questing better) I think the reason people have a problem with the questing is that if you have a quest to kill 6 monsters it's going to take you a little bit to chew through those mobs. The combat, while action packed, is still thoughtful and you you don't just button mash. So taking down a mob is going to take you maybe 30 secs where in a game like rift if you soling it will take only a few secs to take down a mob. It's subtle but to an experienced mmo player it feels long and grinding.

The shining glory to the game though is there dungeons and Big Ass Monster fights (BAMs) This is the absolute best time you'll have in a group in an mmo. Everytime I go through one I feel like I have accomplished something and have so much fun doing it.

It's a shame that the first 20 levels take a while and don't give a very good overview of the game, while I enjoyed those levels I can see why people give up on it before then and before they get their fist true grouping situation.

Oh and this game is beautiful, every time I log in i'm a bit awe struck by it and I love showing people how the game looks.

I give the game a solid 8 and while I don't know if it will hold me 3-6 months at this point I have no plans of giving up on it when I can have so much fun in a game.

Nowadays an MMO has to grab you right off, pull you in, and keep you. There are so many choices today that if the game is not fun and engaging right off people are going to move on.

And fun is the key. I know for me if I am not having fun I get bored easy. I have not given Tera much of a chance mainly due to a lot of RL stuff going on that does not leave me with much time to game. And the fact I have time left in Rift I want to use up and TSW beta weekends. I am actually a little concerned about TSW coming out in June. As long as the weather is warm and sunny through the summer I know I am going to be very very short of computer time.

If it's got quests and avatars people will call it a WoW clone.
